County Board
Sets policy, approves the budget, oversees county operations. The County Board does not have an office in the courthouse. The County Board Secretary handles all correspondence.
The Hamilton County Board adopts the annual budget and tax levy, approves contracts and appropriations, sets county policy, and oversees the offices and departments funded by the county.
The Board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month in the courtroom of the courthouse. All regular and committee meetings are open to the public under the Illinois Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120). Agendas are posted at least 48 hours in advance; approved minutes are posted within 10 calendar days. Meeting minutes are new to the county website and will be available for FY26.
