Voter Registration Cards “Purge” Mass Mailing

Mass mailing alert!

In the odd numbered years, after the Consolidated Election, we are required to complete a “voter purge”.

The Voter Registration purge is a way for Election Authorities to keep their voter databases updated. During this process, we mail every registered voter a new I.D card as pictured below. This type of mailing cannot be forwarded as it is a good way to catch those who may have moved. If the first card is returned, a second mailing attempt is made. This second mailing can be forwarded in attempt to find the voter and it requires them to verify their registration. After two returned mailings, the voter registration will be canceled.

If you receive your card and all information is correct, there is nothing more you need to do.
